Travel

We are so lucky to have so many friends and family from all over the country to join us on our big day.  If you’re flying into the Bay Area we suggest flying into:

  • Oakland International Airport  (1 hour drive)
  • San Jose International Airport (1.5 hour drive)
  • San Francisco International Airport  (1.5 hour drive)

Lodging

By now we think that you’ve seen the website for the wedding location and you figured out that’s it’s also a hotel.  The sad news is that it’s a very small hotel and it’s reserved it for the wedding party only.  As much as we would love to have all of you stay with us for the weekend, it’s just not possible. But have no fear, we have booked a block of rooms for everyone at a hotel that’s just a 7 minute drive away.  Here are the details:

Best Western Plus Vineyard Inn
7600 Southfront Road
Livermore, California, 94551-8227
Phone: (925) 456-5422
King:  $99/Night
Queen Double:  $109/Night

You must call the hotel directly at the number listed above and mention the Winkleman/Jacobus wedding in order to get the block room rate.   Please book as early as possible.  All rooms must be booked by October 6, 2015.

Other Hotels:

La Quinta Inn: Livermore
Quality Inn and Suites:Livermore

Traffic

This is the Bay Area, and for you out-of-towners, you may or may not know that we have epic traffic. Especially on highway 580 which is the highway to the wedding.  Just a word of caution to prepare in advance for travel.  Especially if you are coming into town on Friday afternoon.  If could take you a significant amount of time to get from one of the airports to the hotels if you arrive anytime after 3:00 p.m.  If it’s at all possible we would suggest flying in the morning, and getting on the road no later than 2:00 p.m. to head for Livermore. For those of you traveling by car, our suggestion would be to try and hit the Bay Area no later than 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

If you are traveling to Livermore on Saturday for the wedding, it should be much easier traffic wise, but 580 can still have a backup, so please check the traffic before you leave, and give yourself a cushion of time just in case.

If you get to the destination early and need to kill some time, visit our page Livermore Fun for ideas!
