It’s a pretty typical boy meets girls story and it’s goes a little something like this…

On a cold night in early January 2013 Girl goes to meet Friend for drinks.  Friend has recently changed jobs, so there is cause to celebrate and many libations are had.  Girl and Friend go out to Irish Times where Girl and Friend meet up with Friend’s co-workers.  This is where Girl meets Boy.  Boy was one of the co-workers.  Girl, Boy, and Friends proceed to drink the night away sipping on over priced sangria, eating $40 guacamole, and visit one to many hipster bars.  Girl and Boy share a cab home, but Boy does not ask for Girl’s number upon departing the cab.  Girl thinks that Boy is not interested.  Turns out Boy might have just been shy.

Three weeks later – yes three whole weeks – Boy finally asks friend for Girl’s phone number.  Boys asks Girl on a date.  Only problem is that Girl is a really busy, and perhaps a little nervous, so she puts Boy off for a week or two.  But eventually they find a date that works for the both of them and they meet up a loud after hours watering hold in SF.  This is where the story of the Boy and Girl’s first date differs.  Boy thinks that Girl was perhaps a bit unresponsive on their first date.  He says that she sat with her arms crossed the whole time and wasn’t very much fun.  Girl says that she was just nervous and swears that she was her usual cute and charming self.  To this day, they argue about who is right. Boy thinks that the only thing that saved the date was the fact that Girl’s face lite up at the end of the evening when he suggested they go to a Giant’s game together.  Thankfully, baseball season was right around the corner or else it’s possible Boy and Girl would not be on their way down the aisle.

Boy and Girl had just as rocky of a second date as they did a first.  A word of advice – don’t go see a depressing play about Iraq war veterans on a second date.  It leaves something of a depressing cloud hanging over the rest of the evening.  Luckily Boy managed to salvage the end of the evening by leaning in for a first kiss when he dropped Girl off at her car.  After that, Girl was pretty much hooked.

There were a few more “official” dates between Boy and Girl after that, but it wasn’t long before they fell in love. Two years and a few weeks later Boy and Girl were sitting on the couch one night with their beloved dog between then when Boy asked Girl to be his Girl forever and always.  Girl said yes.  The rest of the story is yet to be written, but something tells us it’s going to be pretty good…
